Directors or Partners pension arrangements

Optima has many years of experience in establishing, managing and advising on all aspects of a Directors and Partners benefit arrangements which include Small Self Administered Pension schemes and Self Invested Personal Pension Plans. Many of these arrangements have involved the purchase or development of property as a pension asset.

Recruitment support advice

We have assisted a number of clients in evaluating benefit issues relating to a potential member of staff. In some instances we have been asked to speak with a potential staff member to assist them in understanding what is being offered and how this compares to existing benefits or their demands.   

Redundancy / Exit support and advice

Optima have provided advice to both employers and employees on how they might structure a package to support and achieve the intended outcome.   

Due Diligence advice

Optima has supported the completion of due diligence exercises relating to corporate sale and purchase transactions.   

Defined benefit schemes services

Optima has assisted a number of companies, together with their employees, to make the transition from Defined Benefit (Final Salary) pension scheme to a Defined Contribution (Money Purchase) pension scheme.

This is an area that not only requires specialist knowledge and advice but is highly regulated and policed by both the Pensions Regulator and Financial Conduct Authority, especially where the employees are being offered the opportunity to transfer benefits from the old scheme to a new scheme.

Optima can also provide the following services to assist a company &/or the trustees &/or the members :-

  • Project manage the many tasks that need to be addressed by various other concerns in the normal life of a scheme (this does not include the provision of advice on the tasks or the content)
  • Secure annuities for retiring members on the instruction of the trustees
  • Source suitable service providers as required in the management of the scheme
  • Provide benefit commencement information or advice to a retiring member
